BASKET WEAVE END-GRAIN CUTTING BOARD
Reclaimed Jarrah & Tasmanian Oak
A handcrafted end-grain chopping board made from reclaimed Jarrah and Tasmanian Oak, arranged in a striking basket weave pattern. Built thick and heavy for serious kitchen use.
End-grain construction exposes the fibres of the timber so the knife cuts between them rather than across them. This makes the surface extremely durable while also being far gentler on knives than standard cutting boards.
The deep red tones of Jarrah contrast with the lighter Tasmanian Oak to create a bold woven pattern, making this board as much a feature piece as it is a working board.
Each board is made in small batches and hand finished with pure tung oil to protect the timber and bring out the natural grain.
